Yoga for Stress Relief: New Offering
You hear it everywhere these days: Chronic stress is bad for your physical and mental health.
You probably have also heard that yoga can help. It’s true! The feature photo in a Mayo Clinic article on stress management shows people doing yoga, with the caption “….The balance of poses and breathing helps you achieve stress management and relaxation.” Another Mayo Clinic article states that yoga can:
reduce your stress and anxiety
enhance your mood and overall sense of well-being
help you manage symptoms of depression and anxiety due to difficult situations.
That’s why I’m so excited to announce a new Bluestem class, Yoga for Stress Relief! This new offering is for all levels, and is especially beginner-friendly. If you have been wanting to visit Bluestem but feeling a little nervous, this is for you! Each 60-minute class will combine simple breath work, gentle stretches, flowing movement, and brief meditation to help reduce mental stress and physical tension. It’s taught by yours truly, and my goal is for you to leave class feeling calm, grounded, and confident about using some of these practices on your own.
A regular student recently said, “When I get to the studio, I immediately feel much more relaxed.” We invite you to experience this on Monday nights. And, we can help you take some of that calm with you! :-)
Yoga for Stress Relief will meet Mondays from 5:30 – 6:30 pm, starting April 25. We’re launching this class in two ways. You can pay for individual classes and come as you can. Or you can purchase the first four classes in advance by registering for our inaugural Yoga for Stress Relief “series.”
We highly recommend the series. Why? First, by paying in advance, you pre-commit to doing something good for yourself. Then, if you’re tired on Monday afternoon and you’re tempted to skip, you’ll think, “I already paid for this, I’m going to go.” Or you can say to your partner, roommate, or teenager, “Monday night is your night to cook. I registered for a yoga class!” :-) We understand being tempted to skip a yoga class, but we also know that we’re usually glad we went. As the same student recently said, “I never regret going. I always regret not going.”
Other reasons to purchase the series?
It’s cheaper than paying drop-in prices. Pay in advance and get all 4 classes for $65 ($75 after April 20).
