Healthy Practices for Athletes and Active People
If you’re physically active, you’ve taken giant steps toward health and well-being. But you probably have areas of stiffness, you’re probably carrying some unnecessary tension, and you may have occasional sore muscles. Sandy will show you how to use therapy balls and other massage tools to care for your active body. You’ll leave with techniques you can use at home. Increase mobility, reduce pain, recover more quickly, have fun! No need to be interested in “yoga.”

Healthy Feet: A 4-Week Series to Reduce Pain and Stiffness
Do you suffer from plantar fasciitis or other foot pain? You’ve tried some stretches and bought new shoes, but the pain persists? This 4-week Healthy Feet class can set you on the path toward pain relief! Sandy will teach you simple exercises, stretches, and myofascial release techniques (self-massage with therapy balls and other tools) to build strength, increase mobility, and reduce pain. Gain confidence and motivation to use these techniques at home. No need to be interested in “yoga.”

Healthy Practices for Desk Sitters
Are you paying the price for hours at your desk? You can find relief through short and simple practices! Sandy will show you how to use therapy balls and other massage tools to roll areas of your body that get tight and stiff from sitting. She will guide you through gentle stretches and easy breathwork. You’ll leave knowing techniques you can use at home and in the office! No need to be interested in “yoga”; this class is for everyone.

Private and Small Group Sessions
Imagine private sessions with in-depth instruction focused on your unique needs. Great for individuals with injuries or health conditions, for friends or teammates who want to learn and have fun together, and for those who can’t join the weekly Bluestem classes. We can focus on myofascial release, or we can combine MFR with yoga, meditation, and/or sound baths. Let us know what you’re looking for!

Yoga Tune Up Therapy Balls ~
The Yoga Tune Up Therapy Balls are made of a special rubber that grips at your skin, grabs at multiple layers of soft tissue, and rubs out adhesions and tension, providing a deep tissue massage. The tote sets include two massage balls and a mesh drawstring snug-grip tote bag. Colors vary.
The smaller pair can be picked up locally at Bluestem. ($16, choose your color, skip the shipping charge!)
About Sandy
Sandy Beverly is an RYT200 yoga teacher, trail runner, cyclist, and owner of Bluestem Yoga. With great curiosity and respect for the human body, she has completed over 110 hours of continuing ed in anatomy and SMFR (self myofascial release, including "rolling" with therapy tools). She loves the “S” (Self) in SMFR because she wants to empower people to listen to and care for themselves, so they can reduce pain, increase mobility, and improve overall well-being. Her “healthy practices” classes teach self-massage, simple movement, and easy breathwork--for yogis and non-yogis. As a studio owner, Sandy strives to make Bluestem a safe space for exploration and evolution, and her favorite classes involve laughing.
